The State on Tuesday compensated Likoni tragedy victims' family with Sh200,000 for burial preparations.
Kenya Ferry Services (KFS) thorough its Tweeter handle, revealed that government has donated the amount for burial arrangement, sparking mixed reactions from Kenyans.
"Today the Government(KFS) has donated Ksh.. 200,000 towards assisting the family of the late Mariam Kighenda and Daughter Amanda Mutheu in burial preparation.
"In this time of grief the family is in our thoughts and prayers . Please accept our deepest sympathies," Kenya Ferry Services tweeted.
On September 29th, Mariam Kighenda and her daughter Amanda died after their car slid from MV Harambee ferry that was moving from Likoni main land towards Mombasa Island and plunged into the Indian Ocean.
It took divers 13 days to retrieve the two bodes from the ocean.

Leaders have been calling upon the State to compensate the victims' family.
Makueni MP Daniel Maanzo is the recent leader to ask the State to compensate the husband to the victim.
Speaking on Sunday, took his blames to the State for failing to put in place proper facilities at the Likoni Channel that could have saved lives of the two.
"Investigations should be done and action taken against those responsible and the government should compensate Wambua for his loss," said Maanzo.
The deceased are set to be buried in Makueni County.
