The war of words between Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko and Nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura seems to be far from over judging by the latest development.
The bitter spat between the two vocal leaders started when Sonko threatened to expose deadbeat fathers, after exposing former Kibra MP Ken Okoth who had sired a child out of wedlock.
Mwaura castigated the city boss over the remarks, saying he was out to earn 'bonga points' by embarrassing fellow leaders.
What followed the Senator's sentiments was the emergence of Mwaura's photos, some photoshopped, on social media, with top 2017 KCPE exam candidate Goldalyn Kakuya with malicious captions.
The Jubilee Senator has now accused Sonko of paying bloggers to circulate the viral photos which suggested he could be having an affair with the minor.
"Mike Mbuvi Sonko you are a true coward. How do you use bloggers to attack me instead of facing me directly? Coward of Nairobi post those things on your wall directly if you are man enough. How do you use a small innocent girl as a shield instead of protecting her," he posted on Facebook on Friday.
"As a father, you would care to protect her and not to drag her into petty squabbles and using albinism as an excuse or some form of weakness. Respect her parents and family too.
They don't deserve this cheap publicity antics. Leave Goldalyn Kakuya out of this," the Senator remarked.
In a lengthy lecture for the flamboyant Governor, Mwaura claimed Sonko was attacking him to divert attention from his failures and massive corruption at City Hall, which was being investigated by Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).
"You seem to hate any form of good leadership and excellence that casts light on your glaring flaws and incompetence. You are used to intimidating people out of your way. Ile Bangi mlikuwa mnavuta na Waititu Bunge inaonekana bado inafanya kazi.
Pambana na EACC wacha sarakasi Big bully. (That bhang you used to smoke with Waititu is still affecting you. Fight with EACC and stop theatrics)" the Senator added.
Sonko in a past event admitted he used to smoke marijuana with Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu when they were MPs. Waititu denied the allegations.
