In yet another milestone in improving health standards of locals, Garissa County government has hinted on offering free eye prescription glasses for school going kids with eye problems.
Issuing an update on social media after visiting pupils of Hyuga Primary School, the county's health team together with officials from Turkish government stated that the move will be rolled out soon to ease the struggles of kids with eye complications.
"During a meeting with @Tika_Turkey officials, we discussed the prospects of providing free prescription eyeglasses for deserving school children. We visited Hyuga Primary School where we met pupils struggling with eye conditions,'" the county health team posted.
The county officials led by health CEC Isnino Rage further revealed that it will hold a free medical and surgical camp to be held in July this year at the Garissa County Referral Hospital.
"@Tika_Turkey represented by Emre Yüksek - Program Coordinator and Pardeep Bhuee- Program Officer had day-long engagements with our team of Garissa Health Department team led by CEC and CO Isnino Rage. Discussed eye medical/surgical camp to be held in July," another tweet revealed.
This comes barely a week after the First Lady in conjunction with Amref and Global One Project held another free fistula camp to help women and girls battling with the disorder.
