While rooting support for the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report, the Head of State slammed its critics saying it was meant to address real problems affecting citizens.

"Only a fool will say that there are no issues in this country that require addressing," he said.

However, the sentiments did not augur well with Wainaina who accused the President of being the cause of problems in the country.

"Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta creates problem for Kenyans only to turn around and accuse Kenyans by saying "only a fool cannot see Kenya has problem". Kenya has POLITICAL problem known as Uhuru Kenyatta and Kenyattanization of Kenya," the activist tweeted on Saturday.

Wainaina, who is the Executive Director of the International Centre for Policy and Conflict, has emerged as the fiercest critic of the President and has been accusing him of being the cause of Kenya's collapsing economy.

"While appointment of Mary Wambui to chair Employment Authority is problematic, it is only manifestation of the real problem. And real problem is Uhuru Kenyatta! Kenyans should start to tackle head on the problem but not its manifestation," he said last month following the appointment of former Othaya MP to a plum state job.

The activist is among members of civil society who were accused of coaching witnesses when Uhuru and his deputy William Ruto were facing criminal charges at the International Criminal Court (ICC) at The Hague.
