This comes after a guard murdered his colleague on Monday night over a female student's love.

The leaders said police should ensure the suspect is brought to book.

"It is sad that a guard was killed in his line of duty with a rogue colleague over a woman's love. It is time police should trace the killer and arrest him," said Steve Arika, a local politician.

Arika called on the Nyanchwa Adventist College management to make necessary changes at the institution to ensure the guards working at the school have no questionable integrity.

Rachael Otundo said the killing is a bad example among students at the institution.

"Young people will copy what old people do in society. The killing of a guard over a woman is barbaric and should not be condoned at all," she said.

Kisii County women representative Janet Ongera said learners should focus on studies and not making love with men.

"Cases of learners especially ladies making love with old men must stop. The killing of the guard at Nyanchwa Adventist College is unacceptable and police must produce the killer," she added.
