In a video that has been widely shared on Facebook, Cherargei says he is marking and profiling those fighting the DP.

However, in a post on Facebook, Shollei termed the Senator's statement as unfortunate and ill-intended.

She also expressed the need for those who will be campaigning for Ruto to do so peacefully.

“The statement made by Senator Samson Cherargei is quite unfortunate. I know for a fact that it is his position. As a supporter of the Deputy President Dr. William Ruto's candidature for President, I distance myself from this statement,” said Shollei

“I seek to reach out with humility to all our opponents included working together for a great Kenya. I shall seek support for my candidate in a peaceful and conciliatory manner. We cannot force or threaten to get support,” she added.

Cherargei who was speaking in a function in Nandi County also said that evil schemes against Ruto were being noted.

The sentiments have since elicited mixed reactions from across the political divide with politicians against DP Ruto's presidency hitting out at the youthful lawmaker.
