Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi has advised the Judiciary and Executive arms of the government to resolve their misunderstandings.
Mudavadi's sentiments were in connection to a recent standoff between the Judiciary and the Executive that saw Chief Justice David Maraga and other top judicial officers snub the Jamhuri Day celebrations.
The absence of the Judicial officer from the national function came after CJ Maraga issued a threat that he would only attend national functions selectively after raising concern over mistreatment and interference from the Executive.
According to Mudavadi, the two arms of the government need to resolve their issues in order to function effectively.
He added that the Judiciary was crucial in cubbing corruption.
"Whatever issues are there between the executive and the judiciary need to be resolved so that these institutions can work. Without a functioning Judiciary the war on corruption will not be won," the ANC leader noted in a video shared on YouTube.
Other complaints that the Judiciary has raised against the executive is attempted budget cuts and failure of the president to appoint 41 judges to ease work at the Judiciary.
ODM leader Raila Odinga recently promised to stand with the Judiciary in its quest for independence citing that the justice-serving arm of the government should not be subservient of the executive.
