The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has issued a statement a few hours after Modern Coast bus company announced that it is resuming its operations on Tuesday.
NTSA in a tweet on Tuesday refuted the claim by the company and notified the public that the suspension is still on.
"Update: Modern Coast Suspension This is to notify members of the public that the suspension of Modern Coast Express has not been lifted," NTSA tweeted.
Modern Coast, in a statement on its social media platforms, noted that NTSA had cleared its buses to resume operations.
"We are pleased to inform all our passengers that we have received permission from NTSA to resume normal scheduled bus services from 1.00 pm today the 17.12.2019. We apologise for the inconvenience caused to all affected passengers who were not able to travel between the 12.12.2019 and 16.12.2019. We shall share the full scheduled buses for today 17.12.2019 within 1 hour," Modern Coast said in a statement.
The company is yet to give another update to its customers after NTSA denied lifting the ban.
NTSA revoked the company's license after two of its buses were involved in an accident leaving seven people dead, and scores others injured.
