Speaking during the burial of his  in-law Fredrick Omindi at Awalo village, Siaya County, Orengo said Kenyans are eager to witness a Raila presidency.

The vocal senator said ODM is amplified and has high hopes that Odinga will lead Kenya into the promised land, through the Building Bridges Initiative(BBI) come 2022.

"This country wants to see Mr Odinga lead it to Canaan through the BBI," he said

He opined that it is through Raila's leadership that Kenyans will achieve political independence which they have always looked forward to.

Supporting Orengo's sentiments, former Gem MP Jakoyo Midiwo criticised politicians calling for Odinga to quit active politics.

He said Odinga is still capable of leading the country, adding that he together with other leaders are prepared to start reuniting the party, and ensure they build a solid base in support of the former premier.

"Our support for Mr Odinga will remain unchallenged. We have no apologies to make for deciding to follow him" Midiwo said.

During the 2017 presidential campaigns, Raila likened himself to Biblical Joshua, and Kenyans to Israelites, stating that like Joshua led the Israelites to Canaan, he will also lead Kenyans to the promised land.
