Renowned activist and socio-political commentator Jerotich Seii has weighed in on how the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji is waging the war on corruption.
Speaking during a live panel discussion on KTN, the outspoken activist did not mince her words, saying that she did not trust the DPP.
Ms Seii appeared to suggest that the high profile arrests that have been ordered by the DPP are nothing beyond sideshows and that they will not lead to much in the way of conviction.
"What has happened in all the other cases? So for me I don't trust Noordin Haji when he says these people are going to face charges because investigations end up being bungled, something happens, a lawyer argues here and there," the visibly incensed activist said. (16:30-16:43)
Jerotich Seii's words come in the wake of the dramatic arrest of the governor of Nairobi county Mike Mbuvi Sonko, who was arrested in Voi while allegedly trying to avoid arrest according to the Ethics and Anti- Corruption Commission (EACC).
She cited other cases of powerful individuals being arrested but not being convicted and sentenced.
Sonko is alleged to have engaged in the abuse of office for personal gain and money laundering, charges that he has strongly rejected, saying that they are all politically motivated.
