Nairobi County Governor Mike Sonko now wants the Ethics and Anti-corruption Commission (EACC) investigated.
Sonko on Monday claimed that he had launched a complaint with the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to have some EACC officials investigated.
Speaking during an interview on Radio Citizen, the governor accused some of the officials at the anti-graft body of being involved in an alleged case of land grabbing.
The land which is situated in South C was reportedly set aside to have of an ECDE centre constructed on it.
According to Sonko, the land was unlawfully acquired by a businessman with the knowledge of EACC.
“I have launched an official complaint with the DCI with all the relevant information and l expect that the DPP will take the matter seriously when it gets to him,” Sonko said.
Sonko further advised the anti-graft body to focus on corruption cases and stop following him for things that happened in the past.
“They should accuse me of plundering public resources or diverting money to my personal account and not dwelling on things that happened 22 years ago,” he noted.
The embattled governor is being investigated for a number of allegations including laying off more than 300 workers since taking power as Nairobi County's Governor.
Nevertheless, he denied the claims citing that he had only suspended some of the workers to give room for investigation.
Sonko had initially moved to the court to have EACC stop investigating him.
