Tanzanian musician Rayvanny recently called for peace and unity among South Africans through a new song that was specifically dedicated to anti-xenophobia campaign.
The song dubbed 'no xenophobia' is currently trending at number 19 on YouTube with 356,211 views.
In the video, Rayvanny begins by pleading with Africans to open their eyes and minds to see the destruction that was happening as a result of xenophobia. He goes ahead to cite that Africans have one colour and are all children of 'Mama Africa'.
"See what's going on, don't be blind. Open your eyes and your mind, We got the same color; one kind. Love is everything we need to find. We are the children of mama Africa. Stop burning and killing Africa. Now my heart is crying for my Africa. Baba lord bless my Africa. This day is one like no other, it's the day that we chose happiness and love," Rayvanny states in the song.
Although a number of artistes have stood up to condemn the xenophobia attacks, Rayvanny is among the few who have invested time to record and dedicate a song to the anti-xenophobia campaign.
Kenyan celebrities were also not left behind as some of them also went to the studio to also contribute to the call for peace among Africans.
Sauti Sol's Bien Baraza sand an emotional piece that preached on the importance of unity and piece.
Kenyan comedian Eric Omondi on the other hand recorded a modified version of Lucky Dube's song dubbed 'different colours'.
