Kenyan social media users on Thursday expressed mixed reactions towards a campaign aimed at banning Citizen TV's 10 over 10 show.
The campaign under #End10over10 on Twitter attracted the attention of Chief Executive Officer of the Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) Dr Ezekiel Mutua, who supported the banning of the show.
A section of the netizens called for the banning of the show on grounds that it promotes immorality among the youth.
They argued the show which airs on Citizen TV on Friday does not uphold the African culture and moral values, adding that terminating the show would save the youth.
However, a section of Kenyans on Twitter (KOT) opposed the move to cancel the show.
According to this group, the show airs past 10:00 pm which means it observes the watershed hour rule.
They further pointed out that viewers had the option of watching the show or not, adding that there are people who enjoy and follow the show.
Responding to claims that the show promotes immorality among underage children, supporters of the 10 over 10 show said parents should play their role and restrict their children from watching the show.
