Over a fortnight since his disappearance, the whereabouts of the Assistant Bishop of Roho Judea Church Charles Oduor remain unknown.
Bishop Oduor left home in the company of two other men who rode a white motorbike.
He was then picked up by two men dressed in police attire on the night of January 11. Search attempts by his wife Hellen Adhiambo in various hospitals, morgues and thickets have proved futile.
Ms Adhiambo told the Standard yesterday how her husband was picked up the night he disappeared by two people claiming that he was due for interrogation at Ndere Police Station.
"He accepted to accompany them to the police post for interrogation without any resistance. I asked to accompany them but they refused," Ms Adhiambo told Standard claiming that a day before his disappearance, he was fearing for his life.
Ms Adhiambo reported about her missing husband on January 12 at Siaya County Police Division Headquarters, where she also recorded a statement. Churches fellowship officials chaired by Francis Odhiambo urged for speedy investigations.
"We cannot give details of the investigation because it might interfere with the process," Siaya Sub-County DCIO Nelson Muhaya affirmed while assuring that they had made some progress.
There are claims that a motorbike owned by a government official who purchased the disputed land was seen on that fateful night. However, it is not clear whether the officer was among those who picked up the bishop on the night he disappeared.
