Comedy has now become a new lucrative career among the youths in Kenya.
When you come to the Kalenjin region, big names have made it in the industry. If you are to list them, then Brobox is likely to top the list.
But what you may not know about the comedian include the following;
Real name
Stage name has in many cases made real names unknown among the celebrities. Like for Brobox, someone may think you are talking about a car model but that is not the case. His real name is Evans Cheruiyot.
He is a student
Cheruiyot is currently pursuing a degree in Egerton University and he is in his final year. Luckily, he is able to balance his time in comedy and education unlike a number of comedians who prefer to fully concentrate on their talent.
Vied for a seat in Egerton university
Brobox during the 2016 Student Unions of Egerton University (SUEU) elections decided to seek the position of Head of Entertainment, Sports and Culture. As in every election that there must be a winner and a loser, Evans Cheruiyot came second in that hotly contested post. He conceded defeat and supported the winner.
Phoned DP Ruto
Brobox made the headlines in 2018 when he directly called Deputy President William Ruto which is not a common thing. He was inviting him to attend his comedy launch in Cabanas, Nairobi.
Brobox has in many events teamed up with his colleagues who are plying trade in the comedy industry among them Propesa.
