Lugari Member of Parliament (MP) Ayub Savula has called upon President Uhuru Kenyatta to nominate Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi as the Treasury Cabinet Secretary (CS).
According to Savula, Mudavadi is capable of rejuvenating the country's economy.
According to the Star, the MP asserted that Musalia Mudavadi is the most adequate person to fit as a Cabinet Secretary in the finance department adding that the former Vice President has a lot of financial knowledge.
He also extended that Mudavadi steered to the recovery of the country's economy during President Daniel Moi's government.
“President Kenyatta should tap into Mudavadi’s financial experience that led to the recovery of the country’s economy during President Daniel Moi’s regime— which had been riddled with massive looting — by stopping fictitious Goldenberg payments,” he said according to Star.
Savula added that Uhuru and Mudavadi should come up with a pact like that of the handshake concentrated on the economy and build an agency constituted of professionals in the financial sector who should formulate an economic recovery strategy.
The National Treasury docket is presently steered by Ukur Yatani who has been in office since the former Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich was fired following a suit in relation to the Kimwarer dam scandal.
