The mother of two daughters took to social media on Tuesday to announce the good news, with congratulatory messages flowing in from her followers.

“They say when she is lost, she is pregnant. On a journey, to raising another HIV Negative Baby!” she posted on Facebook

Awiti did not, however, disclose the duration of the pregnancy she is carrying.

It is also not clear who the father of the expected child is, but the pregnancy comes a few months after she announced her engagement to her European lover, believed to be a German.

Awiti declared her HIV positive status in 2017. Since then, she has been carrying out HIV/AIDS activism until a month ago when she announced she was hanging her boots from activism.

“Honestly, I have been so fortunate enough to learn from all of you since May of 2017, the love, passion, scandals, wrangles, doubts, hate and name-calling over here, have been worth it,” she said at the time.

“I truly hope that you have learned enough from me on matters HIV. Me quitting means I will no longer accept any more media interviews, the last one I had was with Grace Msalame on unscripted, which aired last Saturday on NTV. I trust God to guide me on the way forward from here. I am truly indebted to all of you guys who have fought for me in one way or the other, salute!” she added.
