A peace deal between President Uhuru Kenyatta and his foe-turned-ally former Prime Minister Raila Odinga is about to collapse, exiled lawyer Miguna Miguna has said.
The former Nairobi gubernatorial contender claimed the President was planning to dump the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader and choose his brother, Muhoho Kenyatta, as his successor.
In a tweet on Friday, Miguna opined that before Uhuru parts ways with Raila, he will first form a new political party and put his younger brother at its helm.
"Uhuru Kenyatta will soon announce the formation of a political party headed by his brother Muhoho Kenyatta. He will tell Raila Odinga, "Mr. HandCheque, it was good doing business with you. Goodbye." Patriots must mobilize for total freedom. No gimmicks," Miguna tweeted.
The controversial lawyer, who in the past worked as Raila's adviser, was throwing a jibe at the ODM leader after the government cancelled plans to repair the Naivasha-Kisumu old metre-gauge railway line.
The announcement on Wednesday by Transport Cabinet Secretary James Macharia came a few days after plans to extend Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) was abandoned following refusal by the Chinese government to fund the multi-billion project on a loan agreement.
While in Kisumu recently, Raila told residents that he was accompanying Uhuru to China to help in the negotiations for a loan to extend SGR to the lakeside city.
Miguna laughed at the former Prime Minister telling him Uhuru will dump him just like he has made a sudden U-turn on Kisumu railway line plan.
