The Orange Democratic Movement(ODM) Party Secretary Edwin Sifuna has said that ODM was not only meant to make noise and cause drama over the past years, but rather to enforce some developmental reforms which seemed to have stuck in the government.
Taking to Twitter, Sifuna added that the opposition used the strategy of noise to push for developments and to keep the government into action and aware that Kenyans were still watching.
Sifuna went ahead to note down some of the ODM achievements made amidst challenges.
"Noise as a strategy for affecting govt action is overrated. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. We made noise on the cost and viability of SGR, those with instruments of power still built it. Eurobond, Collector tunnel etc. Give us the instruments then we talk," Sifuna said.
Sifuna added that though the opposition has been trying hard to save the Nation, tribalism has always hindered them from going forward.
"Some really warped logic bro. The ODM party has repeatedly put forward a plan to save this country but tribalism always ensures we don't get the instruments to implement. Then you hear them say we are all the same to justify their continued support of their own," Sifuna denoted.
As seemed to be replying to Kenyans reactions after the song "Wajinga Nyinyi" Sifuna said that the ODM became exhausted of taking the brunt of keeping the government in check as the party was blamed of disrupting the economy on 2013 to 2017.
"Correct. They are mad at themselves. They know we know. We were mocked from 2013 to 2017 for "disrupting the economy" with our noise and protests. The same noise they are asking from us now. These suppliers of teargas we have made them lose their market share," Sifuna said.
Seeming to be pointing over the BBI as the only left strategy, Sifuna said that the ODM party is not silent adding that it's worth changing the tact to see things work out for Kenyans.
"Strategy and tactics may change... The vision for the country remains the same. Our predictability had given our opponents comfort. Now they don't have a clue what we are about. The strategy is the name of the game. We shall get there" the secretary said
