In an exclusive interview with the Voice of America Swahili service, Mr Odinga called for patience amongst Kenyans as DPP Noordin Haji lays bare the evidence he has against the Supreme Court judge.

He asked those reading malice in the arrest of Mwilu not to rush into conclusions.

"If somebody is arrested and charged, there should be enough evidence that will satisfy the public to avoid allegations that the person is being persecuted. I have said that people should be patient. We should wait and see what evidence the director of public prosecutions has... I would advise that we exercise patience because patience brings blessings," Mr Odinga said.

Raila was speaking from Germany on Thursday.

He maintained that he was fully behind President Uhuru's corruption purge.

His words come in the wake of arrests of high profile individuals alleged to have been involved in corruption.

Unlike in the past, Mr Odinga has been guarded in his reactions to sensitive political developments.

Noordin Haji, while addressing the press on the high profile arrest, said that he had compelling evidence against the DCJ.
