The inaugural Chaget Festival in Eldoret town ended on an anti-climax after the star attraction to the event, popular Tanzanian artist Harmonize failed to show up to the stage to perform as expected.
Hundreds of fans who had braved the chilly night at the Eldoret Sports Club just to see the Kwangwaru hit-maker perform live were left in disappointment.
However, it has emerged that Harmonize did not perform because of pay issues with the promoter of the event.
A source who sought anonymity intimated that the promoter failed to raise money to pay not only curtain raisers but also the Wasafi Records artist.
Harmonize had arrived in Eldoret town on Friday ahead of the Chaget festival and he even was at the venue of the event, Eldoret Sports Club for the sound check in readiness for the main event in which he had promised to thrill up his fans.
Angered fans expressed their disappointment on Harmonize’s official Instagram account.
Some, however, defended the artist saying he was not to blame.
