An 18-year-old high school student has surrendered herself to Mogogoshiek police station after she allegedly stabbed a shoe shiner to death on Monday night at Boito in Bomet County.
The form-two student who is said to have been in an affair with the 29 years old shoe shiner from Konoin is said to have fished out and knife and stabbed the man after the two had a quarrel.
Confirming the incident in a video shared by Citizen TV, the regional police commander Alex Shikondi said that the girl had been sent to the market by her mother, only to have an encounter with the shoe shiner who tried to make love to her prompting her to get angry and get into an argument.
The police boss adds that the girl went to a nearby shop and bought a knife as a result which she used to stab the man to death.
"We have arrested the girl and she will be taken to court any time from now," said Shikondi.
He said that detectives have launched investigations into the incident to determine the motive behind the incident that resulted in the sudden death of the shoe shiner.
The body of the deceased has been transferred to Kapkatet mortuary.
