The County Government of Uasin Gishu is keen to ensure all market projects in the County are well executed by the contractors.
Speaking on Monday after touring Kuinet and Bahati-Kimumu markets, Roads, Public Works and infrastructure Executive, Engineer Gideon Birir noted that all ongoing projects will be strictly monitored.
Birir stated that the move is aimed at stopping the habit of contractors who use shortcuts and end up giving shoddy work.
The engineer said the move will help deliver quality projects to the Citizens.
"In most cases, some contractors use shortcuts which may result in shoddy work. But with regular monitoring to check on the progress, the works will be quality," stated Birir as recorded in Uasin Gishu County Government Facebook Page.
The County Executive further stated that the County was determined to ensure the progress of all projects in the county are checked.
"We are considering going round projects irrespective of where they are located to know their status, no stone will be left unturned," stated Birir.
Last Year Uasin Gishu County Governor, Jackson Mandago made an impromptu visit to construction sites catching contractors by surprise.
The governor noted that his government was determined to give nothing but the best to his subjects.
"My Government as a representative of the people of Uasin Gishu wants nothing but the best quality work," he noted.
