Interior Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho is in trouble with MPs allied to the Deputy President Willaim Ruto as accusations of disrespecting the second in command emerge.
The powerful PS is being accused of demeaning the deputy president with claims that he has asked all county commissioners to seek his permission if they are to attend a function by the Deputy President in their regions.
Nakuru Town West MP Samuel Arama revealed to the People Daily that they are scheming on how to kick Kibicho out of the powerful ministry.
“We had targeted Matiang’i but we have now decided to go for Kibicho who is the source of the problems. We cannot allow him to get away with all these issues,” said Arama.
Some MPs told the paper, that a motion to have the PS fired is already being worked on and will soon be on the floor of the house.
The political arena has been awash with juicy stories of Ruto clashing with the PS publicly.
In one instance which was widely reported in the dailies, Ruto was said to have confronted the PS while they were waiting for President Uhuru Kenyatta at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
He told him to stop the ‘monkey games’ he was playing with security detail within counties.
