Nairobi Senator Johson Sakaja found himself on the receiving end after he posted a tweet saying lawyer Miguna Miguna will not become deputy governor.
Miguna was on Wednesday nominated by Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko to be the county’s deputy governor.
In a letter to the Nairobi County Assembly Speaker Beatrice Elachi, Sonko says Miguna meets all the requirements provided for in the constitution.
“I hereby forward my nominee, Lawyer Miguna Miguna to undergo full vetting process and approval by the County Assembly for the position of Deputy Governor,” reads part of the letter.
Reacting to the nomination, Senator Sakaja said, “Miguna will not become the Deputy Governor of Nairobi. Take that to the bank.”
Here are some of the comments by Kenyans who were not happy with the senator’s statement.
