The two politicians have been at loggerheads as they both eye the presidential post in the 2022 general elections when President Uhuru Kenyatta's term ends.

Joho has been attacking Ruto for attacking former Prime Minister Raila Odinga over the country's politics and the aim of the famous handshake.

The duo met when they joined residents of Kilifi at Rabai in mourning the immediate past Deputy Governor of the county, the late Kenneth Kamto. They publicly shook hands and laughed like good friends.

Kamto's life came to an end in an unfortunate shooting incident last week at his Nyali home.

Together with the Deputy President, the Governor of Kilifi Amason Kingi and other leaders, Joho decried the unnecessary loss of life and property in the hands of criminal entities.

"The late Mr. Kenneth Kamto was a loving husband and devoted father. He shall sorely be missed. May the Almighty rest his soul in eternal peace and grant him Jannatul Firdaus," said Joho.
