Family, friends, colleagues and locals on Tuesday converged at Siomo Embomos village in Konoin, Bomet county to pay their last tributes to Administration Police officer Vincent Kemboi.
Kemboi’s body was found at the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) mortuary in Eldoret town last Monday, exactly two months after he mysteriously went missing.
There was sombre mood at the village as his AP colleagues honoured him with a traditional 21 gun salute given to the officers in uniform.
Kemboi died aged 24. He is reported to have succumbed to injuries after being involved in a grisly road accident in Eldoret town.
His family has however raised concerns over the events that led to his death.
Until his death, Kemboi was a rugby player for the Administration Police rugby team. He was stationed at Utawala, Nairobi.
