Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho has been recognized in the recently concluded African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA) 2019 that was held in Dallas, Texas.
Joho was recognized with transformational leadership award in an event that was held over the weekend in the USA.
Joho was among three Kenyans who won awards in different categories.
Other Kenyans who won awards during the event are celebrated presenter Mzazi Willy M Tuva, who scooped the best radio and TV personality of the year and Akothee, who emerged at the top of the Best Female musician in East Africa.
Akothee defeated the likes of Vanessa Mdee, Nandy, Victoria Kimani, Fena Gitu among others.
She also stole the show at the event with electrifying performance and speech that left the audience in laughter.
In her speech, the mother of five urged women to believe in themselves and what they are doing.
"For all the women in the house, there is power in believing in yourself, I don't care what you want to think about me because definitely I know what I think about myself and that's why I am here today," she said.
Unlike other winners who took to social media to thank their fans for their votes, Joho, on the other hand, has not said anything yet over the award.
