It has emerged that opposition leader Raila Odinga on Saturday ordered the end of the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) rally at Mama Ngina Drive in Mombasa prematurely after sensing the tension.

Reports say Nominated MP Maina Kamanda was about to deliver his speech before Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho, the event master of ceremony, announced the rally had come to an end.

Days before material day for the rally, there anticipated political showdown among leaders especially after politicians allied to deputy president William Ruto had confirmed their attendance.

On Friday, the anticipated political heat showed what looked like ideal signs when a group of youths, precisely goons, attacked Nyali MP Mohammed Ali and his Malindi counterpart, Aisha Jumwa.

Jumwa and Ali were among politicians allied from the DP's side who had confirmed their availability for the BBI rally. They were attacked during a press conference.

However, on Saturday, things did not go down as the media had predicated, political heat.

It seems Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen hatched a witty plan before he picked a microphone from the MC, that settled down the tension.

It should be noted that when DP Ruto's allied politicians arrived at Mama Ngina, the crowd could not easily allow them pass and gain access to the podium, but when 'political genius' Murkomen picked the mic, he left the crowd in cheers.

First, he addressed Mr. Odinga using his famous 'Baba' title and the whole crowd was enjoying the words he picked while referring to their leader.

He then quickly settled for a referendum when Joho pinned him down to pick whether he was supporting the BBI referendum debate or not.

After he managed to calm the crowd down, Murkomen gave his speech with ease and even blamed the event organizers for raising issues after issues without coming up with solutions for them.

He said the BBI rally was only full because Kenyans are jobless, and the crowd still remained calm to pick what he was saying. They were all cheering.
